Dennis Schroder has done the rounds on NBA Twitter. He went from underrated in his first two stints with the Atlanta Hawks and Oklahoma City Thunder to overrated, a natural journey for a talented player who could be a trade asset for a LeBron James-led team.

Schroder’s time with the Lakers was capped off by turning into a meme after turning down a rumored $84 million offer from the Los Angeles Lakers only to sign for the veteran minimum the following summer to return to underrated now after an under-the-radar season suiting up for the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.

After not landing a contract he liked last offseason, the German point guard bet on himself by signing a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics to potentially earn the deal he was seeking by contributing to a potential title contender.

While the Cs did establish themselves as a championship-level threat, it wasn’t really until after they dealt him away to a rebuilding Rockets squad that they were able to do so.
