Pune: A 40-year-old person was booked for allegedly cheating an investor to the tune of Rs 4.37 crore. The accused cheated the people on the pretext of investing their money in the share market. The accused had promised the investor 24 percent return on investment (ROI). The Sinhgad police have lodged a case against the accused.
The accused has been identified as Abhijit Appaso Vihar of Oakwood Hill Society in Baner. The crime took place between July 2020 and Jan 2021, Hindustan Times reported.

According to the FIR, the accused floated a company AR Trading where he dealt in different businesses like forex trading, share trading and construction. He took Rs 5 crore from the investor and returned Rs 62.50 lakh as ROI.

Later, he did not return Rs 4.37 crore to the victim. A case under IPC 420 (cheating) and IT act has been filed against the accused.

Similarly, in July 2022, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police have booked a youth (26) for allegedly using the name and signature of former minister Amit Deshmukh on a fake job letter. The accused has been identified as Shubham Sunil Patil.

A case has been registered against the accused who is a resident of Amalner in Jalgaon district at Dehu road police, Hindustan Times reported.

As per the complaint filed by Ganpat Eknath Gite (37) of Moshi in Pimpri-Chinchwad area, Patil claimed that he has good contacts in medical education and research department and has helped secure jobs for many people.
