One Central shopping mall closed after staff Covid infections

The Health Bureau has issued guidelines today (Wednesday) ordering for all shops in the One Central shopping mall complex to close for seven days after six staff workers tested positive for Covid-19.

The closure started from 3:00 pm today and is scheduled to last until 00:00 midnight July 12.

All employees in the shopping mall shops, including outsourced cleaners, security guards and renovation workers, are not allowed to work in One Central Macau and will also have to undergo nucleic acid tests on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th days with all staff having to test negative before reopening.

The Health Bureau’s epidemiological investigations have found that at least six workers of One Central Macau have tested positive for Covid-19, mainly involving security guards, and preventive measures must be taken to prevent or eliminate transmission risks.

Notices have also been posted at multiple entrances and exits of One Central Macau and entry is not allowed, with the property already designated as a red lockdown area.

One Central is a waterfront mixed-used project developed by Hongkong Land and Shun Tak Holdings.

The complex includes a three-level shopping mall, and the One Central Residences’ seven residential towers, which house 796 one-to five-bedroom units.
