TV coverage, commentators, where to watch Week 1

Following a competitive fall camp, the Cincinnati Bearcats are all set for the season-opening matchup against Arkansas on Saturday. Both programs are ranked in the preseason top-25 so it was an obvious choice for ESPN to broadcast the game.

Cincinnati and Arkansas are scheduled to matchup at 3:30 PM at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville with a chance to start the regular season with a confidence boost and a resume-building win. The stadium should be near full capacity at 76,212.

There are plenty of intriguing contests around the country during Week 1 and the Bearcats will have a national spotlight on them. A few other notable matchups this week include Oregon at Georgia, Notre Dame at Ohio State, Utah at Florida and more.

ESPN is set to broadcast the season opener in Arkansas and additional coverage will be on ESPN+ and WatchESPN. According to 506 Sports, the commentators scheduled to cover the game are Dave Flemming and Rod Gilmore.

Flemming was officially hired by ESPN in 2010 after previously calling a couple of college basketball games on the network. A couple of years later, he moved to college football for ESPN, ESPN Radio and Pac-12 Network. Flemming also covers the MLB, NFL and Little League World Series.

After a successful playing career at Stanford, Gilmore joined ABC and ESPN in 1996 and has been one of the longest-tenured football commentators within the company. He also previously worked at multiple networks in San Francisco.

ESPN is showing NC State at East Carolina at noon before the Bearcats’ broadcast begins at 3:30 PM. Cincinnati is tentatively scheduled to be on ESPN affiliations at least three other times this season against Kennesaw State, Miami and East Carolina.
