Weekend weather: Mostly rainy, cloudy; coolest temps Sunday

I could be talking about dry weather, sunshine and warm temps this weekend. That’s just not in the cards.

Thunderstorms Friday evening through Saturday and Saturday night.

Southern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin will see lingering showers Sunday morning, while parts of northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin will have rain periods throughout most of Sunday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale forecasting model shows the potential rain pattern from 5 am Saturday to 6 pm on Sunday:

Snow lingers in northeastern Minnesota

Many of us are enjoying the spring green-up.

Anyone who still wants some sledding or cross country skiing will be happy to know that there’s still a lot of snow cover in much of northeastern Minnesota. The Minnesota State Climatology Office shows 12 inches or more snow cover in eastern Lake County and western Cook County of northeastern Minnesota:
